The Data Center is multi-homed using Level 3, Cogent and Telia Sonera. Level 3 is the largest backbone provider in the United States and Telia is the largest in Europe. This allows efficient delivery on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition the direct connect to the 56 Marietta carrier hotel provides instantaneous connection to a tremendous number of local, regional, national and international backbones. Each service is connected using a CISCO 6500 series switch with a SUP 720 3BXL with 10Gbps ports. The Center has 12 Gbps lit and 60 Gbps dark. Second tier switches are CISCO 3000 series and are all connected redundantly in such a manner that there is no single point of failure in the network.
